Job DescriptionIpswich Housing Action Group (ihAg) - Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2EF£26,475 per annum, plus 7% pension contributionFull Time, 37.5 hours per weekPermanentReference: 0132Required as soon as possible Your role Work alongside people accommodated by Ipswich Housing Action Group (ihAg) to identify and address the effects of their own homelessness experience and enable them to move towards recovery and independence. Your responsibilities Undertake initial needs and risk assessments of potential ihAg tenants, to consider their suitability for supported housing.Develop structured, person-centred, trauma-informed support plans to engage each individual being supported.Provide support, encouragement and guidance in a flexible and adaptive way, to enable people to maintain their tenancies and achieve their personal goals.Conduct regular health and safety checks of allocated properties and report any maintenance issues to the Housing Services Manager.Maintain timely, accurate and up to date records and relevant information to facilitate delivery and ensure continuity of services provided to service users, and for accountability, reporting and monitoring purposes.Work with external agencies to achieve outcomes for the service and individuals as well promoting the organisation. What you will need You must be skilled in engaging with people who have a range of complex needs and enabling them to identify their own strengths and goals. You will be knowledgeable in trauma-informed approach and be willing to work flexibly to support each individual's needs. About us Ipswich Housing Action Group (ihAg) is a busy local charity supporting people who are at risk of, or are experiencing, homelessness. The Chapman Centre is the only Homelessness Advice Hub in Ipswich, providing practical support and advocacy to people who are sleeping on the streets, housed in temporary emergency accommodation and/or at risk of homelessness.ihAg offers supported accommodation with personalised support to enable people who have lived with homelessness to move towards recovery and independence. The Housing Team manages all aspects of the housing, including rent and maintenance, and property safety.
