About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer specialising in Avionics, Mechanical Systems, and Structures to join our team supporting key Defence Aviation Programs. In this role, you will work on the F-35 Lightning II and Hawk aircraft, ensuring they remain operational and mission-ready. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting Hawk Deeper Maintenance, Flight Line, and Engine Modification Program (Engine Replacements), as well as providing maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade services for the F-35 aircraft under the Depot and AVSS contracts. Key Responsibilities: As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will work across various programs, including: Hawk Program: Perform Deeper Maintenance on Hawk aircraft, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with Defence requirements. Support Flight Line Operations, conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. Lead or assist in the Engine Modification Program, including the Engine Replacement process, ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards. F-35 Program (Depot & AVSS): Contribute to Depot Maintenance for the F-35, focusing on Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul, and Upgrades (MRO&U) of airframes and avionics systems. Ramp up Avionics Speed Line work to enhance the efficiency of avionics repairs and upgrades. Participate in the Air Vehicle Support Services (AVSS) contract, working within the workshops at RAAF Base and maintaining key systems within RAAF Hangers. Engage in ad-hoc taskings as part of the Tiger Team, providing support and repair services to aircraft alongside RAAF personnel. Perform complex diagnostics, repairs, and modifications to ensure F-35 systems meet operational readiness requirements. General Responsibilities: Work closely with a dedicated team of engineers to troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft systems. Follow stringent safety and compliance standards in all aspects of work, particularly in military and Defence environments. Assist with managing documentation, ensuring that maintenance logs, technical records, and compliance data are accurately maintained. Support the implementation of quality assurance measures and ensure all work is performed to the highest industry and military standards. About You: To succeed in this role, you will need the following experience and qualifications: Certificate IV in Aeroskills (or equivalent), with proven experience in aircraft maintenance. Significant experience working with military or commercial aircraft, specifically in avionics, mechanical systems, and structures. Prior experience with F-35 and/or Hawk aircraft is highly desirable but not essential. Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade procedures. Experience in conducting deep maintenance, flight line work, and engine replacement programs. Proficiency in the maintenance and repair of avionics systems, with a focus on Avionics Speed Line work. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure to maintain aircraft availability. Australian Citizenship (required for access to Defence facilities and security clearance). Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance (essential for this role).
