The Opportunity:
Start your Casting and Moulding Apprenticesship with McKechnie Iron Foundry, constructing molds out of sand, fibreglass and aluminium that create castings ranging from a few kilos to 25 tonnes supporting the mining, resource and engineering industries.
Location: Gepps Cross SA
About the role:
* Liaising with patternmakers and metallurgists on casting designs
* Preparing moulding boxes according to pattern requirements and creating sand moulded castings
* Injecting molten metal into moulds and dies by hand or machine
* Using a range of tools, machinery and hand-made processes to create moulds and casts
* Identifying casting defects and implementing methods to eliminate them
About You:
* Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident with the right to work in Australia
* Minimum completion of Year 10 High School
* Drivers license and reliable transport
* Able to work in hot environments
