Who we are:
Treat Baking Company is a boutique bakery located in Hamilton, MA. We provide high quality pastries and desserts that are baked daily from scratch for wholesale clients, events, and our local community. Founded in 2016, Treat Baking Company has recently relocated to a new kitchen with our very own storefront. We are very excited about having our own bakery and are looking for people to help bring this new space to life.

The Position: Production Baker
The bakery staff is responsible for routine bakery tasks such as setting up workstations and preparing all food according to recipes. They need to be quick, diligent, and willing to improve on the job. They need to follow instructions as well as health and safety rules in the bakery. As a pastry cook/baker, you will play a vital role in our café and bakery operations, assisting in the production of pastries, cakes, baked goods, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist bakery production – including but not limited to mixing doughs, scaling ingredients for production, decorating pastries, etc.
2. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in all areas of the bakery, including but not limited to: tables, ovens, walk-in refrigerator, floors, drains, sinks, and small-wares.
3. Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with other staff members, assisting as needed, and learning diverse skills.
4. Maintain a positive, upbeat attitude.
5. Receive delegation and direction in a variety of work tasks.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
1. General knowledge of baking and pastry technique and application with willingness to learn more.
2. Familiarity with various baking techniques and principles, ingredients, and equipment.
3. Highly organized with high attention to detail. Ability to follow recipes and measurements accurately to ensure consistent results.
4. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively to meet production schedules.
5. Must be a team collaborator with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Experience with laminated doughs and gluten-free baking a plus.
7. Cake decorating and finishing work a plus.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Food Safety: Abides by local and national food safety requirements and ensures that others do so by monitoring FIFO inventory and visually inspecting food preparation, delivery activities, and overall cleanliness of the operation.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts preferred, 2 to 5 years experience working in the industry.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ServSafe certified or willingness to become ServSafe certified.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. as needed. Able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time.
AVAILABILITY
Available to work morning to afternoon shifts, Saturday mornings a plus.
Job Type: Full-time/Part-time
Location: In person, 59 Willow Street, Hamilton MA (Located right off the commuter rail)
Staffing Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday – Saturday 6am-5pm
Wage: Commensurate with experience
