ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking 2 x Diesel Fitter and/or Mechanic to join the team on a Permanent Full Time basis as Shore-Based Engineers within our Maintenance Team. This role is based at our Workshop in Airlie Beach working Monday to Friday between 7am and 3:30pm.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role assists in the mechanical maintenance of vessels, pontoon, vehicles, tenders, outboards, air-conditioning, refrigeration, davits and lifting systems.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Diagnose system problems as and when they occur
2. Accurately maintain logs and work orders through to job completion and sign off
3. Adherence with SOPS, Marine Memos, operational procedures and WHS requirements
4. Follow the scheduled maintenance program for all mechanical, electrical, air control, safety equipment on a regular basis on the vessels, tenders, pontoon, etc.
5. Maintenance of main and auxiliary engines, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic cylinders (rams), water pumps, ventilation systems, under water running gear and any other mechanical
6. Maintenance of emergency generators, emergency steering and firefighting systems to ensure compliance in line with legislation.
7. Interactive use of HELM (Asset Management System) and upkeep of maintenance requests;
8. Completion of ad hoc maintenance tasks and repairs where there are mechanical and non mechanical issues arising, under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager.
ABOUT YOU
As the ideal candidate you have an eye for detail and take pride in your work. You are a team player with a demonstrated positive and adaptable "can do" attitude. You will have demonstrated ability to problem solve using calculated logic and both functional and technical skills to solve issues quickly and efficiently. Importantly, you will have an excellent job safety record and strong compliance focus of safe work practices and reporting. Furthermore, you will have an eyes open approach to all jobs to not only ensure the allocated job is completed but any associated faults are also captured.
To be successful in this role you will be someone who is/has:

12. Intermediate computer (including tablets) literacy, experience using maintenance management software and data entry;
13. Excellent ability to manage time, prioritise to meet deadlines with strong organisational and written/verbal communication skills.
Requirements
14. Relevant trade qualification with time served diesel mechanic preferred;
15. Open Manual Drivers License;
16. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation;
17. Working at Heights, Confined Spaces and Forklift certificates are highly desirable.
