Beyond the day-to-day, you'll improve user experience at Bambora by contributing to longer term projects and documentation efforts. In addition to ensuring 24/7 availability of the platform, your team is also responsible for empowering Bambora’s product development teams. You’ll provide them with the tools to continuously test, deploy, observe, and scale services in a PCI and SOC compliant environment. You will optimize processes, streamline workflows, and enable Developers to push code live, all in the name of creating the most customer focused payments experience. Our team works with in a hybrid model where you will belong to a community of other Engineers supporting our core infrastructure; however, you could also be embedded directly within a product development team. It's all about a growth mindset From our perspective, to be successful as a Site Reliability Engineer (Platform) on our Oddly Human team you will have: 1-3 years of experience in the administration of Linux and/or Windows-based operating systems, using automation tools and techniques in a heterogeneous domain bound environment. At least 1-3 years of prior experience with automation in IT Operations or system administration. You have a proven history of using automation to perform repetitive tasks such as patching, deployment and regular maintenance of systems and applications. You may have had job titles such as DevOps Engineer or Systems Analyst in the past, or similar. A degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, and/or related equivalent job experience. The ability to participate in 24/7 coverage on-call rotation. Experience monitoring and alerting of operating system resources and application services. Familiarity with infrastructure as code using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Git, as well as Agile and DevOps principles and practices. You’ll have dealt with outages, conflicting priorities, capacity planning in an efficient and collaborative way. You’ll be a true team player; someone who is able to maintain a calm demeanour when things get hectic (not gunna lie, they get hectic sometimes). You understand the past – you know that old technology still has a role, but that the future is here – for us that means, containerization, automation, and enabling our internal customers. It would be great if you had experience with: Networking in software and appliances (firewalls, routers, VPN). Network attached storage. On-premise or co-located virtualization with VMware. Data Centre management including designing for failover and recovery. Working in a regulated environment, with audits (PCI, SOC). One of the following: Bash, PowerShell or Python. Distributed system design and practices. Administration of relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
