Overview You will assist nurses in routine tasks with aged care residents living in the Carnarvon and Anchusa Nursing Homes on Kangaroo Island. Assisting residents with the activities of daily living, you will perform a range of duties that require basic aged care skills, knowledge, training and experience. You will perform routine technical support functions at the level of setting up for nursing procedures, cleaning equipment and managing local stock levels. Ensuring that the care provided is person-centred and of a high standard, you will contribute to the maintenance of a physically and culturally safe environment for residents and staff. As part of your role, you will participate in quality improvement activities through recording and reporting data and reviewing established guidelines, protocols, procedure, standards and systems of work as set out by the health service. You will need to be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing, or hold a Certificate III or IV in aged care or home and community care. You will have a good understanding of aged care standards, and bring the ability to communicate effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
