The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead their growing organization towards excellence in safety, customer service, people management, and overall business performance. Your strategic vision and leadership will be instrumental in maintaining client relationships, driving new business opportunities, enhancing staff productivity, ensuring sustainability, and achieving business objectives.
Role Mandate:
1. Lead and oversee all aspects of the organization’s operations to ensure the highest standards of safety, customer service, and business performance.
2. Develop, implement, and monitor effective business strategies and tactical plans to drive growth and profitability.
3. Assume full P&L responsibility across all functions.
4. Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including financial metrics, to maintain profitability, cash flow, and sustainable growth.
5. Manage the development, launch, and commercialization of new products, services, and market expansions.
6. Optimize operational costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
7. Attract and retain quality, profitable clients through effective relationship management.
8. Continuously improve operational, accounting, and sales systems and processes.
9. Invest in manufacturing facilities to improve productivity and ensure future capability and capacity for business growth.
10. Foster a positive work environment by engaging and motivating staff through performance reviews and effective communication.
11. Enhance team synergy between key business functions of operations, sales, and financial administration.
12. Ensure compliance with all statutory and legal requirements and oversee effective business administration processes.
13. Continuously improve administrative processes, including IT and data control, to enhance operational efficiency.
14. Provide regular updates to the Board on business performance, strategic initiatives, and risk mitigation efforts.
Experience & Qualifications:
15. 10+ years of business experience, with a track record of effectively managing sales, administration, and production teams, and fostering morale.
16. 5+ years of successful leadership experience in senior roles within a manufacturing business.
17. Knowledge and experience in the plastics and mining industries are preferred.
