Recreation / Sport / General Manager Football Football West The General Manager Football will lead our team of management to create an environment that maximises the participation, enjoyment of competition and program participants through the development and implementation of regulations, policies, procedures and operational processes.Responsible for the management and delivery of effective and efficient football competitions, club engagement, operations support and administration of programs and activities to drive the growth and development of grassroots, community and high-performance football.Football Operations oversees all football activities within Western Australia across competitions, programming, talent development, coach education pathways as well as playing a key role in the growth of football through engagement with government and non-government stakeholders.The success of 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and completion of the Sam Kerr Football Centre in Western Australia has provided a strong impetus for Football West and the game more broadly to continue to grow.Football West Strategic Plan 2023-2026 sets a clear path for the growth of the game and identifies the following key strategic pillars and focuses that the General Manager Football will assist in delivering outcomes for: Participants and Clubs: Football to be the most accessible sport in Western Australia and provide opportunity across the state; Elite Teams and Pathways: Providing equal opportunities for participants to be their best regardless of their location is critical to the delivery of the national ambition in a West Australian context; Fans: Attract and grow an inspired fanbase who love and are invested in Australian football; Unifying Football: Football West as the conduit, will develop a united and unified game from the grassroots through to the national body; Asia and the Sam Kerr Football Centre: Football West has a crucial role to play in bringing Australia closer to our international neighbours, while the activation of the Sam Kerr Football Centre is critical for the long-term health of the game in Western Australia.Key Skills and Experience Proven experience in managing a wide range of teams, in a high volume fast paced customer focused environment; Demonstrated experience in the implementation of strategic and operational plans within appropriate budgeted outcomes; Experience in leading and managing a team of staff to deliver outcomes, with an ability to bring those teams together successfully; Excellence in leadership and managing staff; Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others and proven experience in managing external stakeholders to desirable outcomes; Demonstrated experience in working with volunteers; Dedicated approach to excellent customer service; Enthusiastic with a high-level of self-motivation and initiative; Team player with the ability to work autonomously and with limited supervision; Demonstrated skills and experience with computer systems and the Microsoft Office suite; An ability to effectively review rules and other regulatory documents; and knowledge of the application and interpretation of the FIFA, FFA and Football West regulatory framework and the FIFA Laws of the Game is preferred.About Our Business Our vision is to be a leading football state where everyone is inspired to leave and love the game.Football West is currently in a high growth phase in terms of the size and scope of services being delivered.The Executive Team are working to implement the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan to enable the organisation to pursue the agreed initiatives.This role will be instrumental in supporting the execution of this strategy to ensure the continued success of the sport in Western Australia.The General Manager Football will assist in delivering the planned outcomes.Reporting Relationship This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and has five direct operational reports.Closing Date: 5:00 PM - 20 December 2023.#J-18808-Ljbffr
