The Finite Element Analysis Specialist (FEA) will provide advanced simulation expertise to support engineering design, analysis, and validation activities. This role will focus on using finite element analysis to solve complex structural, thermal, and mechanical challenges in various projects. The Specialist will work closely with design teams and clients to optimise components and systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and performance standards are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform Advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA):
1. Utilize FEA tools to conduct detailed simulations for structural, thermal, fatigue, and dynamic analyses.
2. Ensure all analyses adhere to project requirements, safety regulations, and relevant Australian and international standards.
Optimize Component and System Designs:
1. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to refine components and systems for optimal performance, durability, and cost-efficiency.
2. Provide feedback to ensure designs meet functional and operational requirements.
Technical Reporting and Documentation:
1. Prepare clear, concise, and detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate analysis results, methodologies, assumptions, and conclusions.
2. Provide actionable and practical recommendations based on findings.
Compliance and Standards Adherence:
1. Ensure all FEA work aligns with applicable codes, regulations, and engineering standards, such as AS, ISO, or client-specific requirements.
2. Act as the subject matter expert on FEA-related compliance matters.
Risk Identification and Mitigation:
1. Use simulation results to identify potential failure modes or weaknesses in designs.
2. Propose effective mitigation strategies to improve safety and reliability.
3. Work closely with project managers, designers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate analysis insights into project deliverables.
4. Act as a key contributor during design reviews, project planning, and client discussions.
Failure Investigation and Root Cause Analysis:
1. Assist in identifying the root causes of component or system failures using simulation and real-world data.
2. Develop solutions to address these failures and prevent recurrence.
Organisational Accountabilities:
1. Comply with all organisation policies, processes, and procedures.
2. Present professionally at work.
3. Support in development and implementation of organisation procedures and processes, where deemed necessary by top management.
4. Responsible for own health and safety at work.
5. Report workplace hazards where identified.
6. Wear and use personal protective equipment where necessary.
7. Maintain focus on enhancing customer satisfaction.
8. Participate in Delonix Insider meetings.
9. Work within applicable controls documented in organisation safe work method statements.
10. Ensure work within applicable process, quality, OH&S, and environmental risk controls.
11. Report and participate in investigations and corrective actions of incidents and nonconformances as required.
