We are on a mission to continue driving the development and sustainability of our regions by bringing the strongest leadership, innovation and sustainable practices from complementary industries together in a scalable solution.Description:JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for the provision of ground maintenance services, safe and efficient operations of front deck and Ztrak mowers to ensure our clients landscaped grounds are maintained as per the site schedule and specifications.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTBe proactive in identifying hazards, developing safety procedures, and encouraging continuous improvement in relation to HSE.Assist in identifying hazards, advising on safety procedures, and monitoring work practices to ensure adherence to correct procedures and standards for safety and environmental performance. Support the Kolsen Group corporate quality, safety, health, and environmental management systems by:Reporting to your Manager or QHSE Manager any situation that could result in harm to a person, the environment or may adversely affect the services we provide our customers.Report to your Manager or QHSE Manager any opportunities that you believe would improve the quality of service we provide our customers or could reduce the potential for harm to people or the environment.Understand and support the annual QHSE objectives.To immediately pause or make safe any work condition or activity that could result in immediate harm and immediately notify either by phone or in person the responsible line manager and the QHSE adviser or Director.Leading and promoting the implementation of the integrated management systems for Quality, Safety, Health and the Environment.Customer relationshipsCommunicate with internal and external customers on a day to day basis, to plan work, keep them informed of progress, resolve any issues of concern, and identify variations or additional work.Operational performanceMow lawns, cut edges with hand and ride on mowers (front deck & Ztrack) and whipper snipper.Remove litter from garden beds and driveways.Trim shrubs and plants and remove dead branches and leaves.Check function of irrigation system and report faults or insufficient/excessive watering.Apply fertiliser as per instructions.Use of spraying equipment like backpack sprayer, knapsack sprayer and motorised spraying equipment, to control weeds, pests and insects.Tasks to be carried out in a manner that causes the least inconvenience to customers, staff and the general public.Temporary warning signs placed when required.Operate equipment and machinery in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and the SNT operating procedures.Perform routine maintenance on gardening tools and equipment.Assist in the provision of on-the-job training.Inspect products and/or materials for compliance with established operational standards.Work from complex instructions and procedures.Understand and comply with quality, safety, health and environmental policies.Follow written instructions, verbal direction and procedures to perform work.Challenge any instructions that you believe places anyone or the environment at risk.Take personal responsibility to protect the health and safety of people or the environment.People and teamsMaintain a high level of communication and cooperative working relationships with all parties.OtherUndertake other tasks to support the project or business operations as required. Adhere to the Direction, Competence, Opportunity, and Motivation (D-COM) principles.Skills and Experiences:SELECTION CRITERIA:ESSENTIALS:Trade qualified person who has completed relevant post trade training in Certificate III in Horticulture (Floriculture) from a recognised Registered Training Organisation; orNot less than three years’ experience in practical horticulture and possesses the skills, knowledge and experience to perform work within the scope of this level.Proven ability in the maintenance and design of Irrigation Systems (Certified Irrigation Designer / Tradesperson).Proven ability to carry out the tasks outlined in the key responsibilities.Class C Driver’s Licence (manual).Exercise good interpersonal and communications skills.Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.A positive National Police Security Check Report.DESIRABLE:First Aid Certificate.Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture)Chainsaw Operator Certificate.Construction Induction (White Card)Working with Children (Ochre Card)Seniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustriesConstruction
