The Role
Several opportunities exist for highly motivated individuals to provide executive support to senior leaders who manage the acquisition and support of complex equipment for the Australian Defence Force.
As an Executive Assistant, you will independently manage the office of a senior executive and work collaboratively with other team members. With limited supervision, you will undertake duties including but not limited to, managing a busy mailbox, calendar management, preparation of correspondence, organising meetings, greeting guests, arranging travel, coordinating briefing packs and managing office systems and records using Microsoft Office, Objective and Financial Management Systems. In addition to primarily supporting a senior executive, this role will also provide general support to the branch with all relevant administrative support tasks when required.
The ability to proactively manage activities and anticipate the requirements of the senior executive is critical, as is a high level of discretion, judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.

The Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is an integral part of the Department of Defence. This group procures and maintains military equipment and supplies in the quantities and to the service levels that are required by Defence and approved by Government. Within CASG, the Land Domain acquires and supports designated land systems for the Australian Defence Force.

Our Ideal Candidate
You will have relevant experience or demonstrable skills required in supporting senior executives and are able to work independently with minimal supervision. Your ability to interact with an integrated workforce (military and civilian) at all levels, in a fast paced environment, working under tight deadlines, while retaining a calm and good natured approach, will see you provide seamless support to the senior executive.
Experienced across all executive support knowledge areas, you will be able to use initiative to make informed decisions, take a collaborative approach and possess excellent communication skills to engage with a range of stakeholders. You will have an appreciation for confidential matters and an ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism. Additionally, you will have strong attention to detail, are task orientated, solutions focused and can work autonomously or as a team player. As an APS4 Executive Assistant, you will perform moderately complex administrative support tasks.
