About the role We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join Essential Water team for a two year fixed term contract. This role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy’s operational footprint and will require regular travel to Broken Hill. Reporting to the Head of Water, the Commercial Manager is accountable for the management of the water business team that include customer service, business administration, procurement and reporting. The Commercial Manager is also accountable for achieving optimal business performance through the development and implementation of business plans and strategies. Additionally, the role will ensure our Customer and Stakeholder Experience strategies are effective and appropriate as well as facilitating the implementation of a new customer data base / billing system. The Commercial Manager will also play an integral role in overseeing pricing and regulatory requirements of the business and overseeing licensing and regulatory reporting. The Commercial Manager will lead and manage the coordination of all water pricing development along with developing and implementing budgets and control strategies for the water business. The role will also manage and lead the Community Relations functions of the business unit and promote the water business brand including management of all social media. About You You will be a people-orientated, customer focused leader with experience in building and developing teams and strategies. Ideally you will have knowledge of the water industry within Australia, including knowledge of water pricing and regulatory and licence compliance issues. In addition, you will continually look to find new and innovative ways to do things and remain aware of industry best practice, systems, and processes. With a strong focus on stakeholder management, you will have the ability to influence others, and work collaboratively across a diverse group to ensure a sustainable approach based on future business needs.
