About the role:The Family Support Services is funded by Territory Families, Housing and Communities and is a collaboration with Danila Dilba Health Service. The Family Support Services coordinate an effective service system response to respond to high and complex needs, and trauma. The program must be able to engage with, and work effectively with, the broader service system. The Family Support Services has a clear mandate to information exchange between service providers and the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities to ensure quality of services, efficiency and prevent unnecessary statutory intervention. The service prioritises and fosters sector partnership and collaboration and services are based on evidence and focused on outcomes.The Senior Practitioner position will oversee case management and case work service for the Family Support Service. This position will add value to the program in the form of additional leadership by mentoring, supporting and providing supervision to Practitioners, Aboriginal Family Support Workers, and other staff as needed. Additionally, it will involve undertaking complex case management processes.This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based in Darwin, NT within our Northern Territory (NT) Services Program. The position reports to the Family Support Services Team Leader.Key Selection Criteria:To be successful in this role, you will have:A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.Bachelor's degree with specialisation in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related subject area and/or significant work experience in a relevant field which supports an understanding of key child development issues relating to parents and their families who have complex needs.Extensive experience and demonstrated skills in working with vulnerable children, young people, and families in a trauma-informed way.
