About the Program
We are currently looking for General Practitioners (GPs) to join our remote teams and undertake this unique training program. The Advanced Training in Remote Indigenous Health program has been developed as a pathway option for an additional Advanced Specialist Training (AST) component for a Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM), or the Advanced Rural Skills Training (ARST) for the FARGP.
The GPs provide culturally safe services within a comprehensive primary health care framework. The position works within a multidisciplinary team and is integral to ensuring clinical leadership, cultural integrity, and high standards of clinical care to optimise the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
As the largest Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation in the Northern Territory, Congress employs a large team of GPs across our 13 clinics in the Central Australian region. We operate clinics and health centres in several remote communities in Central Australia including Mutitjulu Health Service, Ntaria and Wallace Rockhole Health Service, Santa Teresa Health Service, and Utju Health Service.
For more information on the position and training program please contact Medical Director, Dr. Sam Heard on 0438 556 050.
