With long term gas supply agreements and exceptional join venture partners, their stability and growth potential are assured.The OpportunityCentral Petroleum are seeking an experienced professional to lead the Risk Management and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) functions across their operations and corporate areas. In this role, you will champion a "safety first" culture, while enhancing risk management and HSE strategies, systems and policies.You will oversee compliance and regulatory obligations, conduct audits aligning with assurance frameworks, ensure adherence to contracting standards while also managing fraud and business continuity processes.Utilising your leadership skills will be critical in driving continual improvements in the risk and HSE management frameworks, while ensuring the safety and sustainability of Central Petroleum's operations. To be successful in this position, you will seek out and enhance relationships internally along with key external authorities & vendors.Key Responsibilities Produce quarterly risk reports for management and the Risk Committee including Board members. Ownership of the Board Strategic and Operational risk frameworks Establish auditing processes for contract compliance against major vendors. Maintain and improve risk management strategies which involve systems and process. Oversee risk profiles and provide direction and support to business units and project teams. Develop and manage the Risk Management and HSE budgets. Facilitate risk workshops and reviews with departments and project teams; Facilitate the development of and approval environmental management plans; Ownership for HSE systems including the overarching management system, INX, and others. Oversee and execute assurance activities across the business to ensure adherence to regulation, policy, and procedures; Drive the continual identification of risks and critical controls and develop an assurance plan and process for Central; Qualifications & Experience Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Commerce, Engineering or HSE. 10+ years relevant experience in risk management, compliance, or HSE, including time in leadership roles. Prior experience working in the Oil & Gas sector, or the broader Mining & Energy sector. Strong understanding of risk and assurance frameworks and how they add value to a business. Broad understanding of corporate, operational, business continuity, fraud, safety and environment risks. Understanding of corporate governance requirements and principles of risk management and compliance. Develop, implement, and continuously improve Risk and HSE supporting frameworks. Prior experience interacting with regulatory departments, industry bodies, Joint Venture partners, contractors, and consultants.
