We are actively seeking an Experienced Underground Mine Foreman to join us in our African Operations. The roster on offer is 6 weeks on and 4 weeks off.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plans and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in underground mining activities.
2. Reviews data, such as schedules, plans, survey reports, and geological records, and consults with engineering, maintenance, and supervisory personnel to plan and direct mine development.
3. Adheres to mining laws and safety regulations, and issues directives to workers to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations.
4. Reviews and consolidates records, such as, safety reports, and production records.
5. Supervision of Underground Shift Supervisors and provide direction and assistance with planning of mining activities in accordance with the Mines Act & relevant Safety and Environmental regulations.
6. Liaise with appropriate client contact ensuring expectations are realistic and projected targets are achieved safely and to specifications.
7. Act as Relief /Alternate Site Manager during their absence, adhering to agreed schedules, programs, and targets.
8. Coordinates manpower, roster preparation, annual leave scheduling and assist with employment / deployment of workforce.
Essential Requirements:
9. A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Underground Hard Rock Mining with minimum of 4 years in foreman or superintendent role executing high productivity underground Mining Contracts of minimum value USD $100 Million.
10. Production and Development background with operator experience
11. Ability to coordinate activities and schedule labour.
12. Ability to recognise potential mining hazards and risks.
13. Ability to assess mining working conditions and environment.
14. Ability to recognise potential mining hazards and risks.
15. Ability to communicate verbally.
