You will plan and coordinate project activities, including vegetation identification, ecological assessments, land restoration and conservation management, scheduling project materials, organising and supervising contractors and liaising with relevant local stakeholders.Working on integrating native vegetation into large-scale rural and agricultural properties, day-to-day activities include:
Native vegetation restoration design, planning and supervision;
Travelling to existing sites and potential sites both locally and occasionally interstate for property assessments & revegetation management;
Flora and fauna species identification;
Planning and supervising mixed methods of invasive species control;
Planning and supervising the application of selective herbicide;
Planning and supervising property maintenance, track repair and bushfire mitigation works;
Monitoring, recording and verification; and
Record keeping and report writing.

Hold a qualification in Certificate III Conservation and Land Management or higher/equivalent and have more than 2 years land restoration experience or similar.
Experience in project coordination and/or natural resource management (ideally in rural or remote locations)
A proven track record in problem solving as well as developing and delivering practical solutions.

Success in these roles will see you…
Coordinating native large scale environmental plantings restoration project activities. Including organising and tracking deliverables, monitoring project costs, documenting project information, communicating status updates to stakeholders, plan and scheduling meetings on and off site.
Conducting field monitoring to quantify and characterise vegetation, and implement monitoring programs, and contribute to the broader team for vegetation (and ecosystem) identification, ensuring consistency and continuity of landscape assessment.
Engaging and liaising with landholders (commonly pastoral landowners and/or lessees).
Supporting other project activities as required, including reporting and project co-design.
Other Role Requirements
You will need to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
A current driver’s licence, experience/training with 4WDs/UTVs, experience with remote area work and First Aid in Remote Situations certification is required.
Experience and certification in the storage, transport and application of chemical herbicides is required.
Ability to travel as required – regular away from home travel is likely to be required, including to remote locations.
Experience in the management and supervision of contractors including quality control of supplier's goods/services.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safe work polices/procedures at all times.
