The Team
The Strategic Planning, Projects and Engagement (SPPE) team plays a crucial role in improving the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians by supporting a robust health service planning framework and clinical and consumer engagement across the Department of Health (DoH), Tasmanian Health Service (THS) and broader health system.
This assists the DoH and THS to plan for the services it will need to meet the future needs of Tasmanians. The SPPE team applies a solutions-focus in the delivery of strategic planning, project management and stakeholder engagement across the Department of Health, responsible for leading core system-wide health service planning activities under the banner of the Tasmanian Government's Our Healthcare Future reform agenda, including Advancing Tasmania's Health, the Tasmanian Role Delineation Framework, the regional Clinical Services Profiles, and the Long-Term Plan for Healthcare in Tasmania 2040.
Additionally, the team:
* Leads the development of frameworks for clinical and consumer engagement across the Department to guide consistent mechanisms for co-design, advisory and partnering with key health organisations.
* Manages the Project Portfolio Management Office for all health-related projects.
* Undertakes detailed health, social and demographic analysis relating to health services planning.
* Undertakes major projects to deliver on key Health Planning priorities and the Department's objectives and strategic directions, including significant state and national processes.
* Manages and maintains relationships with key stakeholders internal and external to the Department.
The Role
The Senior Policy Officer supports the broader SPPE and Health Planning team to plan, oversee and implement strategic health planning programs and policy initiatives.
In particular, the person successfully appointed to the position will take a lead role in supporting the planning, coordination and operation of the Tasmanian Health Senate events, the Department of Health's Clinical Advisory Committees and Consumer Advisory Panel and managing and maintaining other key relationships with stakeholders to inform strategic system-wide health services planning.
This is a unique opportunity to join a highly regarded, well-functioning and supportive team, where flexible working arrangements are accommodated, diversity is respected and the Department's core values of compassion, accountability, respect and excellence are upheld.
