We provide therapeutic care to up to four young people with complex needs, aged 12-17, in a beautiful country home setting.
The young people we support may have experienced trauma, mental health concerns, or emotional/behavioural issues that pose a risk to themselves or others. Our role is to establish trust, help them settle into a routine, meet their immediate healthcare and safety needs, and facilitate assessments for transitioning to a sustainable future home - whether back with family, shared living arrangement, or supported living environment with the goal of acquiring skills for independent living.
About the Role:
As an ITTC Youth Worker, you'll collaborate with a colleague to deliver high-quality support to a maximum of four young individuals using a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach.
This program involves short-term assessment and support, typically lasting three months, with opportunities for activities like equine therapy.
The role is dynamic, requiring active engagement, including relationship building, therapeutic youth work, and participation in team analysis and decision-making.
We have a Leadership Team comprising a Therapeutic Specialist, Education Specialist, House Manager, Case Worker, Senior Youth Worker, and specialist youth workers, working together to deliver quality therapeutic care.
Key Selection Criteria:
* A relevant qualification and experience: A Diploma in Community Services (or related) is required; however, we will consider applicants with lesser qualifications if they are prepared to undertake further training to reach Diploma level.
* Experience in youth work, mental health work, disability work, or similar complex care arrangements.
* Demonstrated ability to commit to working well as part of the team.

Part-time and casual positions are available based in our Intensive Therapeutic Transitional Care Program.

* Role model and reinforce positive behaviour through social learning, social responsibility, and emotional intelligence.
* Promote democracy and support young people to engage in a participatory environment where they can have a say in decisions affecting their lives.
* Provide support to children and young people living in the accommodation service, including household duties such as cleaning, shopping, and meal preparation as required.
* Participate in team environment and house meetings to ensure young people receive services meeting their needs.
* Safeguard the wellbeing of young people and report any concerns immediately.

Primary Objectives:
* Deliver trauma-informed services achieving positive outcomes for young people and their families.
* Ensure young people receive safety, stability, predictability, and consistency by implementing house guidelines and supporting individual strategies and case plans.
* Participate in team meetings, house meetings, and case review meetings to ensure young people receive services meeting their needs.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
* A minimum qualification of Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services or equivalent.
* Aboriginal staff - a qualification is desirable but experience and willingness to participate in training is essential.
* Demonstrated skills and experience in youth services, residential care or supported accommodation.
* Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.
* Demonstrated experience working therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced significant challenges and trauma.
You must have or be willing to obtain:
* A valid and current Driver's License.
* A satisfactory Criminal History Check.
* A valid Working with Children Check.
* A valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check.
