HSE Coordinator - Premium Pacific Oyster Producer

THE ROLE
We are seeking a HSE Coordinator on a full-time basis. This field-based role spans all sites with an office based in Port Lincoln. The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for developing and facilitating effective training resources and processes to enable farm production and processing teams to competently contribute to achieving a safe and efficient business environment. The HSE Coordinator engages collaboratively with managers and team leaders to achieve proactive safety standards and practices, coordinating prevention, injury management, and RTW programs and works across all work sites to optimise productivity and well-being.
This role requires a dynamic and highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills who can be flexible with changing priorities and assist with projects as they arise. Responsibilities will include training and development, work health and safety, and engagement within the company and with the community, improving existing processes, and management protocols to critical review. Work collaboratively with the leadership team of professionals to achieve continuous improvement and reskilling in line with technological advancements of the operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Engage and collaborate with farm managers, being proactive to achieve safety standards and practices.
* Work effectively across all sites, coordinating prevention, injury management, and return to work programs, optimising productivity and employee well-being.
* Be accountable for documentation, incident, and data analysis.
* Lead conduct of and analysis of reported hazards, incidents, or near misses via the appropriate HSE system forms.
* Produce work to a standard consistent with corporate and legislative requirements.
* Provide support to the People & Culture, Safety & Compliance Manager as required.
* Maintain documentation of HSE-related information and its communication to all team members.
* Manage RTWSA injury management, claims management, and rehab/RTW obligations and initiatives to minimise incidents.
* Coordinate internal/external HSE audits and develop plans to action.
* Conduct or facilitate training programs for new and existing team members, including remote and online learning programs.
* Work closely with the PCSC Manager to support the team leaders with leadership principles and practices to enable them to grow their teams’ capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS
* Relevant qualifications in HSE or a relevant field and a driver’s licence.
* Comprehensive workplace health and safety knowledge and experience.
* Well-developed communication skills with emphasis on presentation and instruction techniques.
* Diverse workplace experiences, ideally including aquaculture, food processing, and logistics environments.
* Training, content design, and development experience; experience delivering safety training delivery ‘in situ’.
LOCATIONS
We run multi-bay operations across the Eyre Peninsula. Our site in Cowell is home to our spat nursery and year-old juvenile stock before they are shipped out to our grow-out site at Haslam (near Streaky Bay) or onto Coffin Bay, our finishing site.
This role is based in Port Lincoln, with the need for scheduled or unscheduled visits to the sites as required.
