Registered Nurse - AIUDS, Queensland Health Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the public healthcare provider for more than 250,000 people across a geographic area of 150,000km2, delivering a comprehensive range of services across 21 facilities, from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.The Mental Health Service Group are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the team within the Adolescent Inpatient Unit and Day Service at Kirwan Health Campus, on a fixed term temporary full-time basis, up to 30/03/2025.The Townsville Hospital and Health Service vision is world-class healthcare for northern Queensland.Our purpose is great care every day.About your opportunity: Fixed term temporary full-time, commencing ASAP to 30/03/2025.About the Unit: The Adolescent Inpatient Unit and Day Service Unit consists of an inpatient unit and day service program.The inpatient unit is an acute care adolescent mental health unit with a capacity of 8 beds with an average length of stay of 7 to 14 days.The unit is staffed 24 hours a day 7 days a week and provides for planned and emergency admissions.The unit admits young people from across the whole of the Northern Region.The target population is 12-18-year-olds with mental illness who are not able to be treated adequately in the community because of the complexity or acuity of their needs.The Day Service Program is considered an important component on the continuum of care for young people with moderate to severe mental health issues.The program provides multidisciplinary assessment and treatment allowing adolescents with mental illness to receive treatment in the community rather than in an inpatient setting.The program will be able to accommodate up to 16 places, 8-day patients and 8 inpatients.All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the service.The role: The purpose of this role is to provide a high level of care to patients and their families within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.Collaborate with and foster effective working relationships with external stakeholders involved in patient care and service delivery.What's on offer: Generous remuneration package value up to $10,122 p.m.comprising: Salary range of $3171.90 to $4068.50 p.f.(NG5) Annual leave with 17.5% loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.Other employment benefits may include: professional development, shift and locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs, and access to corporate discounts.Role Requirements: Proof of qualification (Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent), registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.Probation period may apply.Pre-employment checks will be conducted.Please refer to the Role Description for further details.Why make the change?
