With OMM’s rapid growth, the business is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Finance Manager to strengthen its Finance team. This high-impact role offers extensive opportunities for personal and professional development, including significant interaction with the executive management team. Office locations are available in both Adelaide and Sydney.
THE ROLE
In this critical role, you will oversee comprehensive and compliant accounting and controllership functions across the organization. As a senior member of the Finance team, you will play an instrumental role in financial reporting, budget planning, and strategic financial oversight. You will lead a team within the finance function and report directly to the CFO, with responsibilities extending across month-end, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the month-end close process by reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
2. Oversee monthly revenue recognition to ensure accuracy and compliance.
3. Manage consolidated financial reporting efficiently, including month-end and year-end processes.
4. Prepare and present monthly management reports to track performance against budget.
5. Manage tax compliance requirements (FBT, GST, Income Tax, Payroll Tax, etc.).
6. Prepare and review annual statutory financial statements, including consolidated financials.
7. Lead the statutory audit process and oversee financial reporting.
8. Supervise the finance team’s bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
9. Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
10. Partner with key business stakeholders to support detailed budget and forecast development.
11. Collaborate with the Treasury Team as needed.
12. Execute ad-hoc projects as assigned by executive management.
13. Develop, improve, and maintain internal control processes across financial accounting functions.
ABOUT YOU
1. Hands-on and self-sufficient, with strong end-to-end month-end and reporting capabilities.
2. Essential experience in financial services or a related industry.
3. Technical proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and Excel.
4. Strong analytical skills for handling complex, high-volume data.
5. Strategic mindset—able to link financial data to broader business strategies.
6. Proven stakeholder management and influence skills.
7. Ambitious and career-driven, eager to take on a significant role within a growing SME.
8. Experience in statutory accounting and a qualified CA/CPA.
9. Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or relevant discipline.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
