Job Purpose
As a Safety Coordinator, you will play a key role under the direction of the HSE Manager in implementing the Work Health Safety Plan and Strategies. This position involves a mixture of planning, support, guidance, and hands-on activities to ensure a safe and compliant operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Implement and monitor the Work Health Safety Plan and Strategies.
2. Deliver WH&S planning, solutions, and coordination.
3. Provide support and guidance in the WH&S onsite operational environment for operations, maintenance, and project work activities.
4. Assist in responding to incidents and leading or participating in investigations related to WHSE events.
5. Review the development, implementation, and monitoring of safe work methods, including 3rd Party / Property Applications.
6. Provide guidance on establishing and supporting the One HSE Culture program.
7. Support the response, recovery, and Lessons Learnt processes following incidents.
8. Ensure that all UGL and sub-contractor personnel have appropriate safety accreditations.
9. Assist in the safety assessment of plant and equipment as required.
10. Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
Qualifications
1. Tertiary Qualification (Diploma or greater) in Workplace Health and Safety.
2. Cert IV Training and Assessment.
3. Construction Industry Basic Induction (White Card) or equivalent.
4. First Aid Qualification.
5. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
6. Experience in operational WHS environments.
7. Experience delivering safety initiatives and training.
8. Strong understanding of Risk Management principles and the controls hierarchy.
9. Solid knowledge of Work Health & Safety Systems.
