Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Refinery Operator who is highly motivated with strong teamwork skills to join our team based at Sugar Australia in Mackay, Queensland.
As the Refinery Operator you are responsible to operate refinery plant in a safe and efficient manner, whilst upholding quality and following set procedures. You will follow the Sugar Australia's vision of identifying and meeting our customer needs of producing sugar by operating a best practice manufacturing facility.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Follow all safety, health & environmental procedures that are relevant to the site and comply with Wilmar`s Onsite policies.
2. Assist with safety risk assessments, identify hazards and notify safety incidents to STL and/or complete an incident report.
3. Safely and competently operate machinery and equipment onsite whilst following set procedures.
4. Contribute to the identification of efficiencies in processes, equipment and resources which will decrease operating costs and minimise waste.
5. Use of SCADA system and testing equipment to verify, control & process input product suitable for next step of process.
6. Complete all quality related checks and record all information/results accurately and at the times stated.
7. Identify and report any food quality issues.
8. Proactively engage and commit to the Achievement Plan and monthly milestone process to continue to drive a performance and development culture.
9. Provide leadership and guidance to others as needed.
10. Build and maintain strong relationships across the business.

11. High School Certificate
12. Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
13. Able to work shift work.
14. Able to solve problems and think conceptually.
15. Effectively manages pressure and work-related stress.
16. Enjoys working in a team environment. A team player who is fair and equitable in dealing with others.
17. Previous experience with shift work in a sugar factory environment is desirable.
