The Centre is designed to reflect the Red Cross wellbeing model, with its sense of openness, welcome and homeliness, mirroring health and recovery.The opportunityFor this role, a love of the outdoors and all things gardening is required as you will be required to perform various gardening activities. Planning and organisational skills are also essential to maintaining gardening schedules and equipment for future use.Key Roles And Responsibilities Include:Liaise with other volunteers and community membersContribute where possible to any events or activities at the centreClean and Maintain any Gardening equipmentWhere required provide meet and Greet services to guest only where requiredVarious gardening activities including; planting, watering, weeding, composting, mulching and maintaining garden bedsGurney of walk and pathwaysGeneral tidy and moving of items in general storage areasParticipate in any centre team meetings where requiredRed Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world’s largest humanitarian network.The impactAs a volunteer, you will help those travelling for medical treatment feel at home and ease their recovery by listening, empathising, and providing them with a friendly voice. You will have the opportunity to learn from many people’s diverse history and knowledge, as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to others.Application RequirementsFor this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, organised through Red Cross.To submit this application you will need to provide details for two professional references.The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory.
