Randstad partners with the leading provider of construction and strategic building maintenance services for the Queensland Government.ResponsibilitiesProject Design & Development: Prepare feasibility studies and explore design options for social housing projects. Create and refine preliminary and schematic design drawings, reviewing and updating designs based on project requirements or feedback.Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with other architects, project managers, and team members to align on project goals. Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and deliverables, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors and stakeholders promptly.Design Review & Quality Assurance: Conduct detailed reviews of architectural plans to ensure they meet project standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with Queensland Government and building codes.Software Usage: Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other tools for project planning and execution, updating and maintaining digital files for ongoing projects.Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and manage project documentation, including design specifications and schedules, drafting progress reports and submitting them to project managers or stakeholders.Support for Non-Social Housing Projects: Provide architectural input on other government or maintenance projects as required, offering design solutions for various infrastructure and building types.Site Visits & Assessments: Conduct on-site inspections to assess project progress or gather details for designs, addressing any design or construction issues observed on-site.Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Identify potential design challenges and propose effective solutions, supporting project teams in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.RequirementsEssential QualificationsQLD Architect registrationRelevant Tertiary Qualification – Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related fieldProficiency in Design Software – Strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design toolsProject Delivery Experience – Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver architectural projects, preferably within the social housing sectorKnowledge of Building Codes and Regulations – Familiarity with Queensland Government standards, building codes, and compliance requirementsCommunication and Collaboration Skills – Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with team members, clients, and stakeholdersProblem-Solving Abilities – Capability to troubleshoot design or project challenges and propose effective solutionsTime Management Skills – Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in Social Housing Projects – Previous involvement in designing or managing government or community-focused housing projectsTechnical Skills – Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced architectural toolsProject Management Experience – Ability to lead and coordinate teams, manage budgets, and ensure project milestones are metUnderstanding of Sustainability Practices – Knowledge of sustainable design principles and how to integrate them into projectsExperience with Public Sector Projects – Background in working with government agencies or large-scale public worksThe successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, displaying initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised while contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.Submit your application by clicking onto the Apply button.
