The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Criminal Division of the Supreme Court.Duties include:Preparing research and briefing memoranda and assisting in the production of judgments, papers and presentations, including proofreading and editing;Performing administrative tasks, including maintaining court records and preparing material for use by the Judge in court;Speaking in court - including empanelling juries, taking verdicts and arraigning the accused;Jury-keeping responsibilities;Liaising with court staff, the public, the media and the profession;Accompanying the Judge to circuit courts in regional Victoria, as and when required.About youAn individual with post graduate experience in criminal law is preferred. Excellent writing skills and strong academic credentials are essential.
