Operating under the Defence Maintenance Contract, providing significant support to Australian Defence Force units preparing for and returning from operations and exercises. Our services ensure the availability and safe working order of Defence assets. The contract includes repair and maintenance to some of Australia's newest and most advanced equipment including inspections, scheduled servicing, repairs and modifications, programmed maintenance, project work with deeper level maintenance and overhauls.
About the role:
Ventia is currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to drive the performance and delivery of maintenance, repair, and project services on Defence equipment within its new Defence Maintenance Contract.
Based at our facility in Bandiana, VIC, this full-time permanent position will see you responsible for the direct day to day activities ensuring smooth operation and contract performance objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities of the role include, but aren’t limited to:
5. Creating a collaborative, trusted working relationship with the Client to develop and regularly report on agreed expectations.
6. Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
7. Training & Development of your team.
8. Supporting and implementing change initiatives.
9. Achieving best practice, safety, and quality standards.
10. Providing Data & Analytics to inform stakeholders and highlight risks.
11. Looking at opportunities of innovation and improvement
12. Financial Control including working to strict monthly budgets, forecasting, recommending maintenance improvements in productivity and/or cost and collecting and sharing cost information.
About you:
13. Proven Management/ Leadership capability in a workshop environment.
14. Defence background highly regarded.
15. Trade qualification or maintenance experience advantageous.
16. Ability to interact and drive performance with technical staff and subcontractors.
17. Demonstrated project management skills.
18. Communication skills including presenting, negotiating, writing reports.
19. Intermediate level MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
20. Driver’s Licence.
You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for these positions, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check.
