Outcomes to provide a critical role within Youth Justice.About the Business Unit The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of children and young people (young people) in the criminal justice system in Victoria focussing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime.System Reform and Outcomes (which forms part of the Youth Justice Group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety) is responsible for driving operational reform in custody and community settings, youth diversionary and early intervention responses, strengthening community programs and services that divert children away from the criminal justice system, providing strategic oversight of major infrastructure projects and leading service delivery and implementation of the new Youth Justice Act 2024.About the Role The Executive Director, Systems Reform and Outcomes leads reform, programs and services to divert children and young people from the criminal justice system.This includes implementation of the new Youth Justice Act 2024. driving operational reform in custody and community settings and leading a strong evidence-based approach to youth justice practice.The role works in partnership with regions, custody, community agencies, the Children's Court of Victoria and other departments, to support young people under youth justice supervision and improve their outcomes and outcomes for the Victorian community.The role is also responsible for strategic oversight of major infrastructure projects across Youth Justice centres.Some of your duties will include: * Lead a best practice culture, build up teams that learn from and support each other to ensure they are invested in their own, and each other's development.* Lead and drive key reform projects that support an integrated and best practice youth justice system and support staff in custody and the community to do their best work.This includes implementation of the new Youth Justice Act 2024.* Lead a strong and evidence-based approach to youth justice custodial and community-based practice,
