Additional roles may include Lifestyle, Personal Care Worker and/or Catering Assistant About the role In this permanent part-time role, you'll be an integral part of our Domestic team, carrying out general cleaning duties for our residents in line with a schedule and infection control regulations for Aged Care Homes. You'll operate cleaning equipment and utilize effective cleaning techniques ensuring a clean and hygienic environment is provided for our residents. A positive “can-do” attitude is essential for this role, as is the ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams to deliver these essential services to our residents. What are the key responsibilities? Complete cleaning tasks as per schedules and ensure documentation on completion Cleaning resident rooms, common areas and bathrooms to the highest standard Cleaning lint filters according to manufacturers instructions and work routine Sorting clothing according to Infection Control guidelines; Undertaking of washing according to wash programs and resident requirements Washing, drying and/or hanging and folding of personal clothing Stock control and ordering (e.g. washing powder, cleaning products) Communication and coordination with other staff regarding cleaning requirements Complying with Workplace Health and Safety & Infection Control policies and procedures at all times What you will bring to the role? An enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to working positively in a team Compassion and empathy for the elderly Experience working with commercial cleaning services (desired) Experience working in an aged care or health-related facility (desired) Understanding of safe use of chemicals and cleaning products Excellent time management and communication skills Who is Southern Cross Care?
