Position Description:
This practice is seeking adaptable Social Workers, Psychologists, Counsellors, Aboriginal Health Workers or relatable qualifications and/or lived experience as a carer, (such as Certificate 4 level qualifications) to join their teams as a Mental Health Professional or Wellbeing Clinician in Mount Isa.
Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality mental health assessment, treatment and intervention services, as well as psych-social support, in home support and other practical supports within the community. As a Wellbeing Clinician, your primary responsibility will be to provide direct client support to adults, youth, children and families, providing a range of practical supports including NDIS support, transport, in home support, social support as well as creating programs to engage and support clients and the community.
You will be required to liaise with the community to plan, deliver and evaluate program specific wellbeing services and community education activities. This will be achieved by: Assessing clients' needs and developing and implementing social and emotional wellbeing plans for a range of clients, possibly including people experiencing drug and alcohol issues, families requiring support, children and youth, people with disabilities and more; Talking with clients to assess how the practice can support them; Reporting on the progress of clients and maintaining accurate and timely health records; Continually seeking out opportunities for youth and adults to connect to their wellbeing in innovative and culturally appropriate ways.
You will travel to various and culturally diverse communities, including discrete First Nations areas across the North-Western regions of Queensland. The team often cover a lot of distance and you will have the opportunity to see very remote parts of Australia.

3. High-level communication and negotiation skills to establish and support respectful and trusting relationships with individuals, teams, staff and the community.
