An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Mechanical Design / Product Development Engineer to join our team at Bale Defence.
We seek a skilled professional with a deep understanding of the full product lifecycle, from inception to production and beyond. You will have demonstrated expertise in applying innovative solutions to challenging problems, ensuring designs meet domestic and international standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Engineering Manager in developing complex sub-system designs and leading component-level design from concept through to production.
* Take personal responsibility for continuing professional development, tackling new challenges with a positive and constructive mindset.
* Conduct component/sub-system/system level analysis to inform project plans, options development, DFM, DFMEA, safety, and V&V activities.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* An Engineering degree (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar).
* A Professionally Registered Engineer or equivalent.
* Experience working in highly regulated industries such as maritime, aerospace, medical, nuclear, or rail.
* Utilize Inventor to develop CAD models for design and production.
* Develop detailed supporting engineering documents to support the design and qualifications evidence.
* Demonstrable working knowledge of configuration management.
* Strong interpersonal communication, consultation, and negotiation skills.
* Presentation of self at our Port Macquarie facility, Monday to Friday.
* Ideal eligibility for an Australian Government Security Clearance.
* Satisfaction of pre-employment screening (Applicants MUST have the right to live and work in Australia).
* Ability to travel internationally and interstate when required.
