About the role
St John Ambulance Victoria are seeking an experienced Communications and Administration Officer who is responsible for the efficient and timely dispatch of on-road resources (non-emergency patient transport and deceased persons transport) to meet the service requirements and the clinical needs of the person being transported.
This team is critical in the coordination and delivery of a timely and safe transport. The role is also responsible for supporting staff, customers, and patients with day-to-day queries/troubleshooting, which may relate to policies/procedures, vehicle or equipment issues, rostering, and other administrative tasks.
This role is based at our Notting Hill headquarters.
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
* Administrative experience, ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, answer phones, using multiple displays, software systems, and bespoke programs
* Ability to work in and direct resources in a dynamic and responsive service delivery environment
* Understand the need for confidentiality and privacy
* Experience planning and dispatching over a dispersed geographic location
* Team player with the ability to work autonomously
* Experienced in understanding and following policies and procedures
* Excellent conflict resolution skills and the ability to de-escalate situations in a complex service delivery environment
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
