Job Description
This role is an operations position requiring work in a home Fulfillment Center (FC) with some travel to other FCs or Corporate locations expected.
Amazon is seeking leaders to work with the AU Operations Process Engineering (PE) team. The PE team drives process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement.
As Amazon continues to grow its FC footprint, this team ensures operations teams have needed process knowledge, established standards, and benchmark practices for great process control.
The team utilizes tools to understand process control and establish process understanding, minimizing variation between shifts, buildings, and regions by driving standard operating procedures for strong performance.
The team works closely with ACES leadership to define, teach, and translate standard work across the network.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Evaluate performance objectives and metrics to identify process improvement opportunities and gaps to benchmark performance.
* Audit, teach, and drive execution to benchmark standards while promoting continuous improvement and process execution.
* Develop and implement standard operating procedures for daily operations within established process control limits for each fulfillment process.
* Partner with operational leaders to execute implementation of established standard work and process improvements.
* Play a critical role in training operational leaders on knowledge gaps to support reduction of variation in process standards.
* Work with cross-functional teams to deliver network-wide initiatives.
* Travel up to 20% of the time across the AU region.
There may be travel outside the established state or country for specialized trainings or continuous improvement efforts.
Basic Qualifications
* Degree from an accredited institution.
* Experience in Industrial Engineering, Business Process Engineering, Quality, Operations, or Logistics.
* Project Portfolio Management experience/Process Engineering Experience.
* Cost variation/Cost saving experience within a similar industry.
Preferred Qualifications
* Strong professional experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
* Relevant knowledge of change management and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Ability to interpret and communicate analytics and present to senior leadership.
* Excellent communication skills and detail orientation.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to motivate a team.
