Data Engineer

* PoV 5 - $106,534 - $128,897 base salary range
* A new Parliamentary Officer Enterprise Agreement is currently being negotiated. It is anticipated that the salary range for this role will increase potentially to $109,730 - $132,673.
We have an opportunity for a Data Engineer to join our IT Architecture & Strategy team.
About the Role
This role is responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in the building, maintenance and constant improvement of enterprise data frameworks for continuous use across the organisation, including:
* Designing, building, and maintaining data collection, transformation and integration solutions including data warehouse and robust data pipelines
* Driving automation through effective metadata management using innovative, modern tools and techniques
* Identifying and applying appropriate design patterns and practices and developing and maintaining data management principles and processes
* Provide leadership, mentoring and management direction to direct reports through effective people management and modelling of behaviours
About you
You will ideally bring demonstrated experience in working with technical and business stakeholders to understand and define data-related business processes and reporting needs, alongside:
* Deep understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, ETL processes, and data management architectures
* Experience as a Data Engineer working with Azure Cloud and Azure Integration Services, across multiple deployment environments, including cloud, on-premise, and hybrid.
* Excellent skills in SQL and proficiency in Python / Java
* Strong experience in working with DevOps capabilities such as version control, automated builds, CI/CD, testing and release management.
