Lynas Rare Earths operates a unique business, with one of the highest-grade Rare Earths mines in the world located at Mt Weld, Western Australia, and the largest single Rare Earths processing plant globally, situated in Malaysia.
We are seeking an experienced Medical Emergency Services Officer (MESO) to join our team. This role will assist in implementing, monitoring, and managing medical and emergency services systems and processes at our Mt Weld operation.
This is a FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain emergency response and medical facilities, equipment, and resources for the Mt Weld Operation
* Expertise in reviewing documentation and writing reports
* Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and maintaining effective integrated management systems (IMS)
* Demonstrated experience in applying HSE legislation relevant to mining practices
* Demonstrated experience providing clarity and advice relating to HSE statutory requirements, as well as experience in managing interactions with regulators and external bodies relating to HSE performance
* Demonstrated experience of broad-based stakeholder engagement with specific focus on near mine communities
* Significant experience managing HSE projects and issues
Qualities We Value
* Experience working in the mining industry in a similar role including coordinating an emergency response team and writing and reviewing medical and emergency procedures
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
* Efficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
* Ability to work productively with limited supervision
* Proactive and able to recognize problems/risks towards the company and solutions to mitigate or eliminate these risks
* Exceptional relationship building skills
Skill Requirements
* Minimum Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance)
* Minimum Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue
* Minimum C Class Driver's Licence (MR Class Driver's Licence is desirable)
* Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
