Australian Department of Finance – Canberra ACT 3 days ago, from Australian Department of FinanceBusiness Enabling Services Group / Enterprise Strategy Division / Parliamentary, Governance and Strategy BranchABOUT THE BRANCH & SECTION The Parliamentary, Governance and Strategy Branch provides advice and support to our ministers, the department and portfolio entities to fulfil their responsibilities to the Parliament.The Branch prepares Finance's corporate plan and annual report and manages projects under Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) funded Official Development Assistance (ODA) programs.The International Section supports Finance's interests internationally through engaging and providing working-level technical assistance information exchanges, and negotiation of agreements and arrangements.Consistent with the Government's international policy objectives the section is responsible for the implementation of ODA programs that build institutional partnerships in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.This involves significant stakeholder engagement with DFAT, other Commonwealth agencies, and our international counterparts.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The Assistant Director supports the Director, International in advancing the international engagement activities of the Department of Finance.In particular, they are responsible for leading a small team tasked with the overall management and delivery of one of Finance's ODA funded institutional capacity building programs.Delivering against Finance's international engagement activities requires the Assistant Director to build strong working relationships with business areas across Finance to support the successful achievement of our international commitments.Under broad supervision, the Assistant Director:Leads a small team in successfully implementing a program of coordinated institutional capacity building activities on behalf of Finance with a foreign partner organisation(s).Works closely and collaboratively with relevant business areas across Finance to ensure the program design and implementation remain consistent with the Government's international policy objectives and delivers against Finance's agreed work plan commitments.Is responsible for managing the program's budget and ensuring all activities are undertaken in a timely, efficient and effective manner.Effectively engages with partners and stakeholders, both within Australian Government agencies and foreign counterpart organisations.Working with the relevant business areas of Finance, prepares program work plans and evaluation reports for consideration by senior executives prior to submission to DFAT.Works with other International section members to ensure there is a coordinated and consistent approach to Finance's development assistance program plans and activities, and international engagement more broadly.The position may involve both international and domestic travel.ELIGIBILITY ADVICE & CANDIDATE NOTES Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS) unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing.Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated in the downloadable job pack.All Finance staff are required to have a minimum baseline security clearance prior to commencement.CONTACT INFORMATION For questions relating to the online lodgement of your application, please email the Recruitment team via ****** or call (02) 6215 1*** between 8:30am - 5:00pm AEDT Monday to Friday.For specific questions relating to this job vacancy, please refer to the details on the contact officer located in the downloadable job pack. #J-18808-Ljbffr
