About the role:
Regional Group are currently seeking a Contracts and Estimating Graduate to join our dynamic, successful team based in Brisbane, QLD.
Directly reporting to the Major Projects Manager, the Graduate will work directly with the major projects and area teams on project requirements.
As the Contracts and Estimating Graduate you will assist with preparing and delivering estimates, contact reviews and negotiation, preparation of payment claims and payments schedules to ensure adherence to the contract and SOPA legislation, project cost control & supporting project teams with cost management, and identifying contractual risk associated with the project.
The Graduate should have (or strive to develop) strong communication skills, be a team player and have exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. This will involve partnering with the relevant operational staff to ensure timely and accurate submission of tenders, project activities, commercial claims, and commercial risk management.
Duties will include:
Explore documentation in order to gain a deep understanding of the project requirements
Review, negotiate, and execute subcontract terms, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
Monitoring and advising on compliance with contractual obligations both upstream and downstream adhering to contractual time bars
Monitor contract performance, variations, and compliance for major projects
Select, measure and track important metrics
Visit sites and other venues necessary to do the estimate
Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics
Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts
Assist in creating reports for senior management
Manage bid pricing from all venders
Prepare cost analysis
Negotiate contract terms and agreement and pricing
Prepare monthly payment claims and schedules
Skills and experience:
Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineer, Law or equivalent required
Ability to communicate
Have a can-do positive attitude
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
In-depth knowledge of construction projects
Good understanding of data analysis methods and KPIs
Familiarity with computer programs
Good time-management skills
Ability to multi-task
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Critical-thinker and problem-solver
