The Business Development Director will play a pivotal role in business growth through the development and origination on new accounts and customers.
The Role This newly created Business Development Director role is central to the company's growth agenda.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll be responsible for crafting and implementing strategies to secure new contracts (State, National and Project based) and support existing relationships, working closely with Operations, Marketing, and Bid Services teams.
Key responsibilities include: Strategic Business Development: Develop and execute a growth strategy aimed at new client acquisition and revenue generation, focusing primarily on the Australian market.
Pipeline Development: Build and manage a robust pipeline of business opportunities, identifying key targets and tailoring strategies to win contracts.
Leadership: Build a small but focussed business development team, setting ambitious targets and cultivating a culture of success whilst also managing an existing Marketing team.
Proposal Management: Oversee the development of high-quality marketing and bid materials to support new client acquisition and client engagement efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships across various levels, including clients, partners, and internal teams, adopting a collaborative approach.
Performance Monitoring: Ensure effective use of Salesforce for tracking business development efforts, supporting decision-making, and maximizing impact.
Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking candidates who bring: Experience: 10+ years in a B2B business development leadership role, preferably in service-driven industries with exposure to national accounts.
Leadership Skills: A successful track record in building and guiding high-performing teams.
Educational Background: Tertiary qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
Skill Set: Strong sales acumen, strategic planning, negotiation, and communication skills, with CRM (Salesforce or similar) proficiency.
Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, results-oriented, and collaborative, with a proactive approach to driving growth.
