Join a team of professionals dedicated to supporting and maintaining Intelligent Transport Systems and Electrical (ITS&E) infrastructure assets within the state controlled road network. The team oversees local ITS and electrical asset planning and project manages delivery of ITS&E projects, along with supporting elements of road safety and network upgrades.

The purpose of the Senior Engineer (Electrical) is to lead the maintenance and support delivery of the ITS&E infrastructure in regional Queensland, and to use this infrastructure to support optimal traffic operations.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
* Support and provide technical expertise in multi-disciplinary project teams across ITS&E transport infrastructure, including project management and/or contract management, to ensure successful delivery of projects within time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.
* Ensure the proper working health of all ITS&E assets and systems, and the operational management and configuration of the traffic signal network.
* Provide technical advice to designers, contractors and relevant project managers and develop project scope identification forms and design briefs for traffic system, road lighting, and intelligent transport systems for the roads implementation projects within the State.
* Provide traffic engineering advice and support services (including traffic modelling and review of traffic analysis) to internal and external stakeholders.
* Mentor and supervise the work of non-RPEQ team members and coordinate resource allocation to encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
* Specialist knowledge of traffic signal and ITS design, installation and asset management, and project delivery and contract management.
* Strong analytical and technical skills to foster continuous improvement in the efficiency of systems and technologies to enhance decision making manage risk.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to articulate complex problems, develop ideas and innovative solutions to a variety of audiences and to gain commitment from key stakeholders to support ideas or take action.
* Enthusiasm to positively influence team culture and create strong working relationships within the Statewide Network Operations team throughout Queensland.
Mandatory Qualifications And Conditions
* A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Electrical Engineering (RPEQ) or an equivalent which is accepted by Engineers Australia.
* Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).
* Current C class driver's license.
* Criminal history screening will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
* Intra-state travel may be required for this role.
