The Role: Due to recent expansion and an increase in tendering opportunities, we are currently seeking an Experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Morningside, Brisbane. The successful applicant will have strong MS Excel skills; must be a team player, have effective organisational and communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, good time management and prioritisation, analytical skills and attention to detail. Key Duties: Review of contract documents including scope of works, specifications etc at tender stage. Managing contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. Develop lump sum pricing / bill of quantities on a range of civil, utility and infrastructure projects using first principle estimates and open market quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. Risk management and safe construction techniques when developing construction methodologies and programs with construction team. Developing and managing budgets throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring costs stay within limits. Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions. Estimate and monitor the projects through the construction phase to handover. Preparing regular reports on financial status, including forecasts and variances from the budget. Assisting the Construction and Commercial Teams to identify and prepare variations and EOT's in accordance with the head contract. Skills & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant experience. Ability to interpret drawings. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and clients. Ability to work in isolation to meet deadlines. Sound negotiation skills. Excellent MS Excel skills with ability to construct MS Excel spreadsheets to suit relevant tenders. Tier 1/2 experience will be highly regarded but not essential.
