Position Description:
The Production and Design Team operates within the Corporate Communication and Media Relations Branch to deliver high-quality video production and graphic design services for the Department of Social Services. The team’s mission is to create engaging and accessible content that aligns with the department’s visual brand and corporate narrative.
In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team of creative professionals, where you will take responsibility for:
* coordinating and executing photography, managing the department’s photo library, handling consent forms, and organising all aspects of video shoots, including scripting, booking, and managing logistics
* overseeing the filming, editing, and full post-production of video content for both internal and external audiences
* serving as a technical expert in live broadcast production, camera operation, and photography, applying your expertise to achieve optimal results with talent and crew
* troubleshooting and implementing contingency plans to resolve technical challenges during shoots, ensuring minimal disruption and high-quality outcomes.
As the Senior Video and Photography Producer, you will work under the direction of the Production Manager to:
* deliver high-quality video and photography content that is accessible, engaging, and meets departmental standards
* provide specialist advice on multimedia products, offering insights and creative solutions to enhance the impact of video and photographic projects.
Candidates will be required to provide email links to a showreel of video and photography work as part of their application.
Eligibility / Additional Requirements:
To be eligible for employment with Department of Social Services (the department), you must be an Australian citizen. An applicant's suitability for employment with the Department will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This will include an identity and criminal history background check.
Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance:
The suitable applicant must also obtain and maintain a security clearance conducted by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
Applicants also must be able to establish their background as checkable to be considered eligible for a security clearance. Any gaps or periods of time spent overseas for 12 or more months (cumulative) that cannot be verified by an Australian referee is deemed uncheckable, rendering the applicant ineligible for a security clearance. Background history must cover 5 / 10 years (Baseline / Negative Vet 1 or Negative Vet 2) of employment, education, residential, criminal history and anything else specified by the AGSVA. The suitable applicant must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information to fulfil this process.
