Be a key contributor to the Commercial property sustainability team for one of Australia’s largest property investment and funds management groups.
The Company
We are partnering with Charter Hall - an ASX listed business with over 30 years’ experience in property investment and funds management, and one of Australia's leading fully integrated property groups. They focus on quality investments in core sectors - office, industrial, retail and social infrastructure. They own and manage a diverse portfolio around Australia totalling $88billion, including land-mark city office buildings, well-connected industrial & logistics properties, local shopping centres and social infrastructure assets, on behalf of their institutional, wholesale, and direct investors.
The Role
Reporting to the National Sustainability Operations Manager, the Senior Sustainability Advisor will support the broader team in the development and delivery of strategic and tactical activities that fulfill Charter Hall’s Office ESG Strategy commitments and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
* ESG Strategy: Assist in the setting of future office targets through an analytical lens, guided by the direction of the Group-level ESG goals
* Review and analysis of ESG performance outcomes (assets rolled up to fund and sector portfolio) in quantifying the extent of achievements against the Office ESG Strategy commitments and targets
* Active contributor to the Office funds 2025 GRESB Real Estate Assessment submission, Green Star Performance, WELL at Scale and other benchmarks or ESG ratings as required
* Preparation and analysis of materials to support effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders
* Support the National Sustainability Operations Manager with the development and delivery of Office ESG initiatives as required
About You
Naturally, you will come with a passion for Sustainability in the built environment together with a commercial lens, and can-do attitude for implementation with a focus on outcomes. As a highly regarded Sustainability practitioner, with strong influencing skills, you will have proven capability working in a fast-paced sustainability function that is driving impact.
You will also have extensive experience in the commercial property sector, including working with fund managers and other senior executives. You are known for both your ability to achieve outcomes through collaboration and rolling up your sleeves to deliver outcomes.
In addition to this you will possess:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Built Environment, Finance, Sustainable Business, Business, or equivalent.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a corporate property sector ESG or consultancy role
* Experience/accountability in driving operational Sustainability outcomes across office/commercial assets and/or portfolio of assets.
* Experience in green building principles, certifications (e.g. NABERS, Green Star, WELL or equivalent) and ESG benchmarks (e.g. GRESB).
* Understanding of property industry, climate change and topical matters such as net zero, electrification and circular economy
* Strong spreadsheet proficiency and the management and analysis of data sets to effectively communicate historic performance and a sound approach in forecasting models/trends.
