Job Description
AAMG have been engaged by our client partner to find them an Electrical Engineering Manager to support their existing coal mining projects in Central QLD.
Key Duties:
* Controlling and managing the preparation plant and mine's electrical engineering activities and projects, including statutory obligations under the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013 and site's Safety and Health Management System.
* Providing technical advice and support to key stakeholders.
* Building and maintaining strong working relationships across the mine site to ensure work plans are aligned to business goals and delivered as per schedule, on time and within budget.
* Development, supervision, monitoring, and review of electrical engineering standards and procedures forming part of the mining operations health and safety management system.
* Supervision of the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electrical plant and installations.
* Establishing and managing operational and capital budgets associated with all electrical functions of underground and surface operations.
* Ensuring production and infrastructure equipment is maintained and operated in compliance with maintenance standards, procedures, work instructions, and defined processes.
* Appointing competent persons to manage functions within their area of responsibility.
* Establishing and managing effective standards for statutory inspections, communication, and reporting briefings/debriefings.
* Ensuring compliance with site Health and Safety Management system.
* Engaging with statutory regulators on notifiable events and development of plans for recommencement of operations/responding to notices.
* Providing input into and monitoring key performance indicators that improve the overall performance of the mine.
Experience Required:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in a coal mine environment.
* Hold a current EEM certification and practicing certificate, electrical trade qualifications, high voltage switching, EEHA Hazardous areas, and mining supervisory competencies.
* A post-trade engineering qualification will be highly regarded.
* Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture.
* Risk Assessment facilitator training is desirable.
* Sound leadership skills.
* ICAM or other similar investigation training.
* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
* Sound knowledge of Master Data (Creating/Updating Task List, Maintenance Plans) experience is highly desirable.
