Job Description
We are looking for a .NET Developer to join the Technology team at TAL. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and testing of defined user stories as well and performing maintenance duties on existing assets that are in production. You will also provide a level of guidance to Junior and incoming team members in order to get them up to speed and functioning as an active and contributing team member.
This position requires an experienced technical specialist who can stay organized and prioritize their work without supervision.
The role works closely with the Lead Engineer with the proven ability to deliver the required products and features as required in a timely and quality manner.
This role will also contribute towards promoting and enabling ongoing platform health improvements for improved resiliency including the availability, integrity and cyber security of the platform.
Key Accountabilities:
* Analyse requirements and design appropriate solutions to implement specified functional and non-functional requirements.
* Build, test and deploy web services and integrations as per specification and in line with defined guardrails of the platform as specified by delivery, risk and security standards.
* Work with the Lead Engineer towards increasing the reliability and availability of data integrations across TAL.
* Assist the Pod in improving their delivery velocity. Help new Pod members learn the Pod practices (including TAL Continuous Delivery (CD) agile practices), standards and technology being built and help existing Pod members to upskill as required.
* Perform design-, code- and test-reviews and embed built-in quality practices to ensure products delivered by the Pod meet appropriate quality standards throughout development.
* Ensure that delivered products are secure, reliable, usable, efficient, effective and, where required, highly available and scalable.
* Assist the Pod in troubleshooting and supporting what they build, including providing L3 support for production incident resolution and root cause fixes.
* Participate in Scrum ceremonies reporting on dependencies, progress, impediments and next steps.
Qualifications
Key Attributes Essential

Experience Essential
* Experience in developing and testing web services, full-stack applications and integrations in both traditional and cloud based environments.
* Strong technical background, ideally having worked as a developer for 5+ years, with a focus on the Microsoft stack; C# .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, MSSQL, SSRS, BizTalk.
* Experience with MS Azure services; Web Apps, Function Apps, Logic Apps, API Management, Cosmos DB, DevOps
* CI/CD and DevOps experience; Gitlab, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps
* Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptive and resilient in a fast-changing environment.
* Excellent knowledge of and experience in the application of agile and lean practices.
Desirable Qualification and Experience: Tertiary qualifications; Financial Services/Insurance/Life Insurance industry background; Java experience; Jira & Confluence experience.
