Covering 10% of Victoria's expansive landscape, East Gippsland is rich in natural resources and brimming with economic potential as a hub ideally situated between Australia's two major commercial centers in Melbourne and Sydney.
As a key member of the Council's leadership team, the CFO will work collaboratively with the wider organisation's leadership group to shape a strategic vision of financial strength and sustainability.
Reporting to the General Manager Business Excellence, the CFO will provide supportive leadership to a professional team.
You will ensure the teams are embedded across the organisation through effective and deliberate business partnering and are seen as enabling and trusted partners to Council's service lines through collaboration.
As the CFO, you will create a positive and empowered workforce that embraces a progressive approach to providing high-quality finance and related support across the organisation with a customer-centric mindset.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a CFO or Finance Manager in either public or private sectors, demonstrating your ability to implement sustainable financial solutions within complex business environments.
Your leadership style should be one of trusted advisor able to drive financial and commercial outcomes, with a strong capacity to motivate teams towards a shared vision and financial accountability.
You will also need to demonstrate effective collaboration on complex projects, strong communication skills for stakeholder management, and a commitment to ESG principles.
The preferred candidate will hold a degree in Finance or Accounting and a CPA/ CA will be highly regarded.
