The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Payroll Officers to join our client on a non-ongoing basis until June 30, 2025, with the potential for extension.
In this role, you will be utilising the Aurion payroll software to manage weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay runs.
With the organisation undergoing a significant rebuild and reset, you’ll have the chance to be part of a new team, shaping processes and creating meaningful impact as the agency enters an exciting new chapter and begins working on some critical projects.
The Role
As an APS6 Payroll Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing and managing the payroll function to ensure accurate and timely processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls using Aurion
* Leading the resolution of complex payroll queries and discrepancies with a focus on high-quality service delivery
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and internal policies, while staying updated on payroll-related changes
* Managing and contributing to end-of-month and end-of-year payroll reconciliation, reporting, and audit processes
* Collaborating with HR and finance teams to optimise payroll systems and processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives
* Providing expert advice on payroll matters and mentoring payroll staff to build capability and maintain high-performance standards
The Ideal Person
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
* Demonstrated experience in payroll processing, ideally within the APS
* Familiarity with Aurion payroll software or similar systems
* A strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under time pressures
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Salary / Rate
$95k – $105k + 15.4% Super
