2. Total Indicative Remuneration: $352,632 - $597,993 (Pro Rata) (Subject to Private Practice Arrangements) MD2 | Full Time, Ongoing
As the General Physician, you will contribute to the effective and efficient management of the hospital’s General Internal Medicine teams, the Acute Medical Unit service, Ambulatory care and other services, ensuring the provision of professional high-quality medical care. You will show clinical leadership, through knowledge, skills, teamwork, mentoring and organisational skills in all aspects of the delivery of medical care of patients referred from the Emergency Department, other hospitals, or from the community. Consultant Physicians are expected to participate in quality improvements, administration, teaching and research.
Consultants when rostered to a unit are required to be present daily on business days, and if rostered on weekends and public holidays, and be available by phone and able to be recalled when rostered on remote on call. Hours of Attendance are in accordance with SA Health Salaried Medical officers Enterprise Agreement 2017 and this position includes the provision of Flexible Hours Arrangement.
The position will rotate between the General Medical Units at SALHN.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
3. Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
4. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
5. Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
6. Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of professional judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting.
