Job Description
Day to day you will:
1. Produce an average of four digital stories per shift across news / entertainment / culture / etc, which connect with our hungry audience and help the editorial team reach our targets
2. Keep across the news cycle and be prepared to pivot when major news breaks
3. Ensure stories are produced with a keen eye for accuracy, quality and brand tone
4. Social each story across with each platform's best practise in mind
5. Work independently on weekend shifts
This role will suit someone looking for regular part time work, who is both able to work as part of a collaborative team and solo.
Qualifications
6. Experience in a digital newsroom
7. A keen sense of what young Aussies care about
8. Their finger on the pulse of the news cycle and online conversation, from what’s the biggest news in Australia that day, to what controversy is popping off on TikTok
9. A unique tone of voice or point of view
10. A Bachelor’s degree in media, communications, journalism, or design (preferred, but not mandatory)
11. Experience in social media management working across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, or YouTube (preferred, but not mandatory)
